Shadow of the Vaal

So i touched something in Vaal ruins lvl 2 and the game went dark. I got the quest shadow of the vaal and all it says is i brought a darkness to the land and i should find a way to fiz it. i have looked up on how to beat the quest and it says i need to beat Vaal Overlord apparantly but i dont think i can make it to him. I have no idea what to do any info would be much appreciated. I think i am glitched.

You need to complete a bandit quest (either help one of them or kill them all) and get a quest item (the Apex) that will allow you to spawn the Oversoul.

I have the bandit quest but i dont have a waypoint to any of the bosses, i cant make it to them alive with the screen all black i dont know what i am fighting, i tried but keep dying.

I'm having the same issue where I can't see anything but characters names in town and titles of waypoints and portals. Quite confusing.
