Few things you should know before entering PoE Open Beta

Something to expand on with white items:

The aren't worthless at all. You did say that they can be a powerful base for crafting. Even more so as you get +5% item quality per Scrap/Whetstone contrasted to 1% on rare items. it's often cheaper to build from a 'prepared' white. But there is even more to them:

- Any item with linked sockets of all colours nets you a Prismatic Orb.
- 'Superior' items of 20% quality net you Armourer's Scraps/Whetstones. So do any combined items of 40% or more item quality (because mostly you won't get a single item with 20%).

Both of those properties can be found often on white items.

personally, I value white items just as much as any other drop.

interesting read. personally i dont like hoarding items for the vendor recipes and running the maps with really limited inventory makes you do some serious decisions. i didnt even mentioned the vendor recipes itself. but will add it then. thanks. update comming soon :)

A request here - can someone write which recipes are kinda 'must know about' and which are most common used. thanks !

Well, running maps is endgame, it's not something that should immediately be of concern if you're new to Wraeclast. By the time you're running maps, you should know what you want to pick up, and what you don't.

And I don't hoard items for the really good recipes either (don't even know them off-hand). But I think newcomers can profit from the knowledge of how easily to get Armourer's Scraps and Whetstones, especially in the early game.

e.g. Have a white longbow, upgrade it with four Whetstones, use an orb of transmutation (Alchemy/Chaos is too valuable, methinks), maybe a few Alterations and Augmentations, and you got a very decent weapon very early.

Having a steady supply of "Quality Orbs" is something I love having at low levels.
