Beta Key Skill/RNG Contest #1 [Won by JayEff]

Thank you for the great puzzle.

I was messing with the .wav file when it was solved and didn't know what to do with the ? in 74?E4 to finish after anyway.
My gaming computer is broken...

The ? was actually part of the RNG, it had to be guessed or brute-forced.
OMG my brain this was awesome Alvana well done^^
I am not even going to bother trying the contests. Out of my skill range and it seems there are is a large enough crowd waiting that my odds of getting it is VERY SMALL.
Not as small as that random timer's chance of picking you...
Timer is totally random chance. Winning in this thing is a competition.
I'd like to thank everyone for the great comments I've been receiving in my "probably-almost-full-by-now-pm-box" and on this thread.

To be honest after some hints (Font, Sound, Black, etc...) from the beginning I really got started working on the content at 3PM EDT (So about 3 hours after announcing it on the forums) and thought mid-way that maybe it was way to hard for the community to handle, guess you've proven me wrong.

It took 1 hours 47 minutes for a winner to emerge against a 3½ hours work, makes it a nice deal.

I'm also sorry for the others that didn't find it that much amusing due to high computer knowledge and free/software requirements, the solution will be posted soon enough.

I'll be hosting another contest this weekend (probably tomorrow). I'll be announcing it a few hours before it happens to give more people a chance to prepare for it. Keep an eye on the forum!

Again, thank you all,
Alvana.
It was quite nice.
A group of us in IRC were cracking it quite nicely but we got stuck on a couple of letters.

I put together an mIRC script to quickly convert binary and ascii to text.

So all that stuff wasn't the issue. The fact that there was puzzle inside puzzle was what made it challenging and actually for a while fun, even despite not winning.

The audio clip was easily resolved with audacity.

The other people in the IRC solved the images for the most part. The placement of digits was a bit off in the end for us.

Good job none the less on a very successful puzzle.
Bleh, I'm sorry I missed it. Congrats to the winner. Hopefully I'll be able to catch the next one, looks like fun.
