Character limit 24?

I read that you can have only 24 character without buying any new slots, but i don't buy anything and i can create more than 24 char.
Is the limit bigger or what? |

I always assumed the limit would get reduced or put in place when Open Beta gets here because 24 characters is quite a large amount.
If it doesn't then it's just one more reason why I feel good about supporting this game. I haven't personally tried to have more than 24. I delete chars I haven't played in awhile. Last edited by Rollback#5721 on Jan 13, 2013, 10:57:12 AM

24 slots is intended because there had to be some limit. They wanted people to be able to test builds, play races, participate in leagues without having to delete beloved characters. The character slot was never intended to be a money maker.
I have faith that their micro transactions will be awesome and popular to not need to depend on a core game function such as character slots to make money. Once open beta start the default limit will be much lower, I think it's 6, if you want to make more chars you need to pay.

And what will hapend if i have 24 chars and they in OB make a limit 6 chars? Random characters remains?

" That seems a valid reason to dismiss the possibility of 6 characters. Deleting 18 accounts (not sure how they would determine what to delete first) if you have 24 would probably displease a couple people. And I think 24 was to allow players space to make characters for events. PoE players: Our game has a wide diversity of builds.
Also PoE players: The [league mechanic] doesn't need to be nerfed, you just need to play a [current meta] build! And the winds will cry / and many men will die / and all the waves will bow down / to the Loreley |

wont the char wipe before the open beta mean that you wont have 20+ chars anymore, hence they could well reduce the starting limit on chars.

All characters loose gear and are reset to 1st level. The exception is the ammie for winning races. That way everybody gets to keep character names.
