Fixing Low Life Builds

1. Sight Radius. I imagine this is in the pipeline to be fixed in 0.10 or 0.10.1 or something.
2. Low Life Uniques should offer slightly more ES and/or life than they do currently (it's being reduced by 66% anyway).
3. This keystone, towards the middle of the tree:
Dark Ritual: While on Low Life you have +30% chaos resistance. While not on low life, you take 30% more chaos damage.

30% chaos resistance would be a generous amount, but it would not be too generous. It would be enough that low life builds can function but still fear chaos damage and would still let the team have a little wiggle room with adding in more +chaos resistance uniques. The second half the keystone insures that it's not a "free" bunch of chaos resistance for non low-life builds.

Nice keystone.
Indeed, I'd love to see this one with my newly introduced Spark / Ice Spear PA Redbeak build :D

What do you mean by low life builds? Builds which have a relatively low health pool, or builds which require you to typically be on <50% health or something like that?

Either way, I don't see them ever being viable to be honest. I don't think it has much to do with incompatible keystones. In my experience, this game revolves around one shots. I haven't played much, but in my +-60 hours of play over the three weeks I've had the game, I have never once died to attrition, and I've died a lot. It is always a one shot.

In a game that revolves around being killed instantly if you are killed at all, large health pools will always be a necessity.

Low life as in "On Low Life" of below 35% of your max health, and typically a build that revolves around reserving your life pool to 'on low life' in order to use things like Pain Attunement, Redbeak unique swords, and a few other uniques.

All of anubite's suggestions here are good. Here's a good example of what pain attunement casters see for a long time. Even at 35% it's pretty much impossible to play in any kind of dungeon.
Really great idea. I'll consider doing a low life build if they implement this idea, i really dont like the part with the vision radius reduction.

Low life builds generally needs to stack some increased life nodes as you may endure better staying at low life status. (at least it works with huskar at dota 2)
I rather like the keystone as well, and as others have said its well though out.

I personally think the low life mechanic could be improved a bit. I'm not quite sure how, but going from no benefit at 36% life to suddenly gaining the full effect at 35% strikes me as a little bit clunky. Perhaps a gradular effect that begins at 50% life (5% of the listed bonus gained) and improves to 100% of the listed bonus by 35% life. Pending other possible solutions GGG might have in store for the future, this would at least make low life builds immediately playable by improving their life expectency (a little bit) and providing spike benefits as they approach the "oh$#!%f@€£" levels of health.

Also, some "low mana" effects might be kind of cool too :)
