Freezing Pulse - LMP vs GMP

Hello,
im wondering whats the most effective support gem for freezing pulse

since lmp gives - 30% dmg and 2 add projectiles, and gmp 4 add proj. but -50% dmg

lmp : 3 proj x 70% dmg = 210%
gmp : 5 proj. x 50% dmg = 250%

gmp does have higher mana multiplier,but in terms of dps gmp should be more effective,right?

Technically GMP is better. But realistically you need mana leech to support the cost. Which means you would need to have a 5L. Which would mean you would have leveled LMP pretty far already, and it would take a really long time to level GMP to be of much use.

In a perfect scenario, you pick up LMP and GMP at the same time, you use LMP and level GMP in an extra slot, you continue until you get a 5L and are able to support the mana cots with leech.

I have a 20% lvl 19 LMP and a 10% lvl 11 GMP....there's really no way I'm gonna bother.

Hello guys, here are my thoughts, for freezing pulse you will want to go with gmp. While gmp costs more and has a higher reduced damage, Freezing pulse is prettty unique in that the projectiles can stack on top of each other, giving you a much harder whomp compares to other projectile spells. Also, and im not sure about this, but if the passive which grants the additional chance to freeze on cold damage is applied indipendently per projectile, that would greatly increase your chances of landing a freeze without a crit.

Anyways, FP is relative low in cost so it shouldnt be that big of a mana burden. I also don't understand why people do not focus on mana regen instead of things like mana leach and such. Mainly because when you have clarity going with a couple small mana regen nodes and just an item or 2 with it on gear, you can get such good regen that you are able to spam all spells without ever stopping. Right now my level 40 something cold crit witch has like, 45 mana regen a second, and its so high that even with 4l freezing pulse with gmp and added cold damage I can spam it to no end. From my characters it seems like mana regen is beter than any other resource generator. And, while you may have your mana reduced to very very little pools, as long as you can cast your highest costing spell it should be fine as your mana will regen exceptionally quick.

assuming low cast speed - 3 casts per second.
assuming high cast speed - 4 casts per second.

checked my legacy witch.

5L FP costs like 60 mana. with GMP its around 80.

low castspeed character will need 180/240 mps
high cast speed character will need 240/320 mps

when i use dream frags, goldwyrm, 33% mana regen shield, 25% regen ring, with +100% mana regen from passives and lvl 18 clarity, im at 142 mps. on top of that, you have 50%/0% mp regen map mod.

Fast cast, crit dmg, lamp, FP, mana leech

I though was 80 per pulse, at 4 casts was 320 second

The cast speed makes any mana nodes worthless. Hell, even EB can't supply that much without amazing gear.
