Pillar of the Caged God bug?

I just found this, and found it pretty cool, wandering if it's worth the time to build around it. Made some math, and it seems it can be pretty ok (not awesome).

Anywho, it seems it can only have 3 sockets. Why? Isn't it a two handed staff?

Yours is probably too low itemlevel to get more sockets or you are just really unlucky. Hold the item in game and type /itemlevel.

The itemlevel affects how many sockets an item can get; it sounds like you found your Pillar in an area that doesn't offer itemlevels higher than 28.

That said, Pillar is surprisingly hard to build around, so I'd recommend messing about with other stuff before trying for that.

No, you see, after the latest patch, you CAN'T use a jewlers on a max socket item, and you can't use a fusing on a six linked item (or a 3 linked one hander).

My staff has 3 sockets, and I can't use more jewlers on it.

EDIT: Understood now. Did't know it had level restrictions, just thought it was harder to get more links on a low lvl item.
