Is map drop rate higher if you play in group?

If i understood correctly the answer is no, and this is boring. In other words the question is:

If i run maps ALWAYS in a full party of 6 friends do we have more possibility to drop maps than doing it in solo?

I know that everyone is running out of maps, but are they always running a map on a full group? Sorry but i could not find an answer to this precise question.

The map drop rate is NOT higher if you play in a group. The map drop rate only depends on map' item quantity.

Ok but let's hypotesize this: if i have 1/6 chance to drop a map in a map level 70 and the chance is calculated per person if i run a map SOLO i will need to do (on average) 6 runs to find a single map again. If the chance is calculated per person and we run maps AS A GROUP, do every one of us has 1/6 to find a map or WE (as a group) has 1/6 chance to drop a map?

If everyone has 1/6 to find a map than playing in 6 will (on average) always give 1 map to the group, without increasing the drop chance. Did i understand correctly?

Group, solo, whatever, you have the exact same chance, it's not calculated by party size.

No, map drop chance is not calculated per person. The drop chance is always the same regardless of how many people are in the map.

Currently, if any maps drop that are not unique they are allocated to the maker. If other people are in the map, it has no effect on the drop rates of maps (I think rarity is also not increased in groups for map drops)

An example. While playing solo, every chest you open has 1% chance to drop a map (not actual figures). If you play in a party, the same number of chests spawn, so you will still have 1% chance to receive a map.

In the example given I (as a single player) have always the same chance. What i mean is that the GROUP could get more map not we as a single player. In the example given every player still has only 1/6 probability of getting a map, but by doing it in 6 people at least one of the players in the group would get a map, it does make sense and it is logical! And the "per-player" chance of receiving a map is not increased.. Is this the way it works?

If it was in the other way why on the earth a player should group? By gimping the chance of receiving a map? If a group of 6 players must do 6 times a map in order to get a new map it would be better to do maps in solo because the chance to receive (personally receive) a map would become 1/36.. It is not possible that GGG has such a retarded system :)

You didnt explain your example properly.

Your example where a group gets more maps is true, I will elaborate.

If 6 people run 6 maps (All solo, but they are still part of a 'group'), then they will be able to accumulate more maps faster than a solo player because they are doing 6 maps at the same time. But this means that all of you are running solo, if you all enter the same map then the drop chances never increase.

The benefit in this situation only arises because you clear more maps in less time, you still had to do the same # of maps to achieve it though. If a solo person ran 6 maps by themselves, they would still get the same amount of maps as the group would have running 1 each.

Ok the sentence:"Currently, if any maps drop that are not unique they are allocated to the maker." does make a lot of sense. Thank you that was the point i was missing, i preferred a better system though... :(

Ok understood thanks. So if 6 friends farm end of act 3 merciless in order to get lot of 66 maps they have (as a group) a larger pool of maps to start with. That's the only advantage of playing in a group of friends, maps higher that 66 cannot drop in merciless so, by using the recipe, you can obtain a 68 map for 3^3=27 maps of the same type... pretty hard

The really big advantage of mapping (higher maps) in groups is that you can split the almost obligatory and sky-high rerolling costs of the maps.
