Can't Use Jeweller's Orb On Quecholli

Just checking if I'm doing something wrong on my half. Currently have a Three socket Quecholli spike maul and attempted to use a Jeweller's Orb on. The standard error appears if currently equipped or if socket with a gem. It is in my inventory with no gems. I've log numerous times with no derivation but can use other orbs, chromatics for example. Thanks!!


EDIT: OK, so I found that item level dictates number of sockets, so my ilvl 23 weapon can only have a max of 3. So my question now is once I obtain 3 sockets is the error due to me not being able to re-roll less than 3. If so then disregard this post.
