Necro aegis is a strong passive, especially when taken with other minion passives. So summoners may be at a big advantage here. But someone is likely to have a guardian that can exploit the weakness of another.
Imagine a high attack speed, lightning-dealing guardian with wrath and haste auras and conductivity and ele weakness curses. You could likely shock stack your opponent. Good thing there's a cheap unique helmet that prevent shocking!
Gem swapping is real-time with the guardian gem. Maybe your guardian is a bit too class canon and loses? Attach "endurance charge on melee stun" and curse vulnerability for 3 quick charges! Then swap back to Added Fire and curse flammability! Link it with Added Chaos, he doesn't have any chaos res!

Maybe it's round 4, the score is 2-2, and it's best 3 of 5. You notice your opponent swapped his Purity aura for Determination! Put your Hatred on and use Frostbite! Oh shit, he swapped his shield out for a Kaltenhalt! Your cold damage does nothing! Swap to your Crest of Perandus and hope the leech will save your Guardian!
