[SC] Scion - Spectral Throw dagger Crit caster [update nov8+vid]

The build is about building up crit to reliably cast spells via the cast on critical strike gem. Since there is quite a few spells with projectile attribute and ST is projectile attack doing a lot of small hits, it should be able to bring out full potential of CoC gem.
To be able too leech life and mana at reliable rate weapon with high phys damage is needed.
Leveling
I leveled with caster, took first spell damage nodes using EK , firestorm and fire trap. Normal was easy as normal, with cruel it harder mostly my survival that is but i did not take any hp node and only a handfull of evasion ones while my gear is quite bad. But damage wise its still fine EK with fork and hatered does tons of damage. As for single target dps im using ST / Firestorm based on what resists are there. Started using CoC around lv 40. Short video with some merciless library/docks farm. Library might not be too efficient but i think the iLv is worth the effort. Docks are a bit faceroll. It ends now however to get gear that would let me farm maps would just take too long on my own.

It needs tweaking near the evasion nodes i will grab accuracy and skip the 3 crit nodes. But its good base i belive

More links in the CoC chain would be : ST-LMP-CoC-Ice spear - faster attacks - Fireball (since atm it can just multicast) Power charge on crit link - needs testing but i think : ST - CoC - Ice spear - PCoC - should work best i belive if not then ST - Faster attacks - PCoC +?? Cast on Damage taken - it doesn't work too well with this build so Totem that summons skelies is i think best what you can get. Why ice spear? I think it's spell most similar to ST. Benefits from LMP , pierces near by targets and enters second stage at about same range where ST does mini-shotgun, it also high base crit chance and bonus Crit ch for second stage. Fireball/Arctic breath - got more base dps then ice spear , easy shotgun effect but can't pierce (chances with Projectile weakness but if it pierces it does't shotgun) Freezing pulse - shotgun effect with pierce but its effective range is a problem. Ethereal Knives - i would love to use EK, massive base damage , benefits from added fire damage / hatered aura and both will benefit ST too. The LMP penalty can be ignored, however its short range can't , Faster projectiles are must here what makes ST shotgun effect basicly unusable. It also eats a socket. But any spell goes throw PCoC to main link and you can use cold snap for some freeze madness (so far ice spear freezes well enough for me - we will see)
Single target DPS
Well it sux and there is hardly any way around it. ST is weak ST dps and CoC with just 1 target won't be procing much. Creating 4L for single target doesn't seem to be reasonable if you have 5l/6l main - i don't think there will be any damage to gain. I'm helping myself here with bear traps as it is (maybe fire trap is better need to check this out)
HC or not to HC
While having OP gear anything goes there are not enough HP nodes around and acrobatics are not HC friendly. Maybe with this
But crit chance to proc spells is all you get no crit mult or chance to crit for spells
Future
Shield VS DW. If shield then evasion shield that will not contribute to damage in any way. Or ES shield that can have spell damage but will only contribute block to defenses. DW gives 80% global crit chance from OH, possible spell damage (two GG daggers > one) and some attack speed nodes near shadow. Blood rage and frenzy charge nodes with good chaos resist present There are quite some ways to tweak the build.
