Voll's Protector 6L mana issue

Hello, with Voll's Protector 5-6L, who use it without mana problem ?

- no def (low ES / no res / no life etc...)
- 50% reduced maximum Mana
- aura nerf

How you can use 1 skill and 4 or 5 supports gem with this now seriousely ?!
I have try many many changes in tree or stuff but i have mana issue all time.

ramdom example :

+ 120% mana regen on tree
+ ~100% mana regen on stuff
+ 64% mana on tree
+ ~150 mana on stuff
- 5% mana reserved on tree

Clarity + Discipline + reduced mana lvl20


gg, you have less that 100 mana for cast your 5-6L skill or at best 200 mana
and and still not enough regen with 10k mana nodes used.


it's according gems :
Discharge build ~240mana / sec
Flicker ~50mana / 0.25 sec (without frenzy charges and +4% mana leech not work)
etc...

what is your total mana? usually 250+ mana skills need around 1500 - 2000 mana , it is an absurd amount , but end game mana regen comes from having a huuuuge mana pool

I did 50 tests and changes and now i have no really good character to tell you an exact number but its impossible or very very hard to get 1k mana with voll's. its more 700-900 mana max with many node. (knowing that they must also compensate the very low def)
Discharge builds only use 5L to work anyways, that is unless you're a burning Discharger (in which case you shouldn't be using Voll's Protector). Flicker Striker builds shouldn't rely on Voll's Protector either, particularly since they need the body piece for ES unless you're going for a life-based build (in which case you'd want a different body piece regardless).

EDIT: On my Flicker Striker I have 173/865 Mana, 692 reserved. Flicker Strike costs 48 mana and with only 2% mana leech it is fully functional. I only rarely have to use a mana potion in 50% regen maps.

Yes, i agree with that, Voll's is not a necessity for many charges build.

the objective of using Voll's with a "random" 5L build who use powercharges (flicker or whatever) is for example to get a free gem slot for IIR/IIQ avoiding changing the OP gems for xxx build (ex : 150k discharge is cool 2min but useless in party without good IIR/Q).

The low def is not news and this can be corrected with big gear (shield / helmet...) but mana after the release is very hard.

I have never use Eldritch Battery and i'm not sure if its possible to adapt a CI build with it (no mana problem i guess but chaos resist + bloodrage needed), i can try.
