PoE is unplayable from Greece and Italy since it was released due to lag and disconnects.

day 10: Things are a lot worse than yesterday. the base ping seems to have gone up from 83-100 to 150. The big lagspikes (up to 800 ms) are back but rarer than on day 1-8. I wouldn't call it straight unplayable but it is still very annoying. I'm not sure the problem is 100% seabone's fault now. Softlayer seems to be having problems when too many people connect at the same time, while seabone is having packet loss no matter if the servers are full or empty.

OK let's be clear :
- Telecom Italia + 99% online game = work ... no lag ... 30 / 50 ms - Telecom Italia + POE = NO WORK ... EXTRIME LAG ( MS between 100 and 2k ) so ... the problem is not telecom but TELECOM + POE ... " Rispondo in italiano così magari lo capite una volta per tutte.... I server di questo gioco non sono nello stesso punto dei server degli altri giochi. Il problema è su un nodo di Milano della telecom, gestito dalla Sparkle (società telecom). Had this same issues till yesterday when it all seemed fine.

Fastweb users seem to not be affected either which comfirms. I'm gonna take a guess and say it will be fine after the holydays but for now it's just crap. |

Disconnections happens in my opinion cause the game see that a certain number of packets send by the player are lost, so it can handle the situation and "kicks" the player.
Even if the problem is on the route, and not on their server, an overloads on them may increase the problem. If there are a lot of player connected, when you have a packet lost issue you will probabably disconnect earlier than a normal situation when server have a lot of free connections. Also remember a thing. When the number of playing person increase, the number of people who pass through the telecom node increase too. If at 3.00 am the game is more playable can be related to a more empty server, but also on a free internet route too. |
