Steam version of the game - questions

So I'd like to run PoE through Steam, my questions:
1. Do I have to uninstall PoE? 2. I'd like to buy GGGold through this website and not through Steam (so Valve doesn't get a cut), will it be possible if I run PoE solely through Steam? GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

No you won't have to uninstall your current poe, but when you install it in steam you'll have basically 2 copies. The one you use now and the one that goes through steam, so kinda pointless to have both.
Yes nothing is stopping you from buying from GGG directly, you won't be eligible for steam trading cards this way, but GGG will get 100% of the money. |

I got another question:
If i install the Steamversion, will the update and future updates run from the steam servers (very fast for me), or redirect to the path of exile servers (not that fast) anyway? thank you |
