[0.11.6] Searing Trap (Multi-Fire trap build.)

With all the new trap goodies and the future addition of more trap passives and goodies to come, i have decided to make a trap-based life character. It uses Blood magic gem, instead of mana, and stacks health regen to maintain the cost of BM.

It focuses on Fire Trap, with Searing Touch and a lot of crit/burning passives/items.

It is best to level up Ground slam or Cleave and going Blood Magic, with resolute technique. Make sure to level up Firetrap and other gems while you do so though (might have to wear a Jade Amulet, since Marauders have nearly no dex.)


the Gems

Fire Trap + Multiple Traps + Empower + Concentrated Effect + Elemental Proliferation / Increased Burning Damage / Iron Will + Blood Magic

The gems are listed in order. Elemental prolif/IBD/IW are all options, depending on how you gear is. Some gems may do more damage then others, for your specific setup. You will just have to test it to see.

Blood Magic gem is only used once you get a 6 link Searing Touch. Until that point, use the Blood Magic keystone.

Other gems:

Vitality(Very important to run Vitality, to keep regen high) + Determination + Haste/Purity + Reduced Mana

Elemental Weakness + Flammability/Enfeeble + Enduring Cry + Blood Magic

Molten Shell (Careful on reflect mobs, you can 1-shot yourself.)

Decoy Totem

Leap Slam


the Items

the Searing Touch - Combine this, with empower, to give your Fire traps a crazy +5 levels. Making them do insane damage. Stack the extra burning damage ontop of that and it is a really essential item to make this build work - focus on getting your hands on one and getting it 5 linked ASAP

Kaom's Heart - Will be much harder to get your hands on, but not as mandatory until you start running higher level maps. Hitting that 6k+ health pool is really important for not getting 1-shot.

Windscream - Not a required item, but nice to stack Flammability + Elemental Weakness to get more burn chance and resist debuff on your targets.

Sunblast - Huge boost in damage output, but since it is lacking health, it can be a dangerous unique to use if you do not have a sufficient life pool already. Recommend to use after getting Kaom's Heart or pre-maps.

As for normal yellows - finding max health and resists is priority until you get capped resists.

For damage affixes, look for critical chance, critical multiplier, and % fire damage.
