New interviews released with Chris Wilson says the scion will be unlocked at the end of normal difficulty so somewhere in Act 3 I would assume, they say she is locked in a cage so likely a side quest that you will do to get her unlocked. Not sure how likely it is, though. If it were, I think I think it would be quest-green, not the standard skill gem color. I'm pretty sure they partly made it unlockable to deal with races. I really feel like getting the scion after beating normal is too easy. She should be in a cage at the end of the Dominus fight in merc. Make it a real challenge and therefore a real achievement to unlock her. Also, how is the scion going to work in races? Already unlocked? Not available?
