Texture Quality Option. Why Can't I Change It?

Because you're on a 32-bit OS most likely.

The reason it is disabled on 32-bit systems is because the high textures take up too much memory and cause crashing. 32-bit windows is only capable of addressing right around 3.5GB of memory (including video memory). Windows takes up a good chunk of that and doesn't leave much for PoE. Putting high textures into memory that isn't available is what causes a lot of the Unable to MapViewOfFile and other similar memory related error.

You can still manually change it in the production_Config.ini file, but I wouldnt' recommend it unless you're going DOWN from medium to something lower for better performance. Just open the production_Config.ini and find the texture_quality line and set it appropriately. The higher the number, the worse the textures will look but the better performance will be.

0 = High,
1 = Medium,
2 or 3 = Low
4 or 5 = Really Low,
etc
