I agree with every single super important choice in the character creation such as handedness, gender and eye colour, but I have several others to mention that haven't been brought up yet.
I'm quite tall for a woman, and cannot fathom playing with a short character. Please add slider to the character's height so that I can feel connected to it.
Also, I'm very lanky, so I would need to be able to remove all the muscles from my characters as well. I simply cannot play with a marauder who doesn't look just like me.
I've also got the impression that none of the playable characters speak Finnish. Please fix this as I'm unable to play with a character who's not even speaking the same language as I am. Finnish texts and voice-acting is needed.
Now that I thought about it, the shoe size seems quite off too, and it's not realistic that one size fits all. I understand it takes a bit of coding, but something as essential as this can surely come in .12j or so. The PvP and Act 3 are not really necessary as I wouldn't kill anyone whose nickname I know in real life and as I'm certain that Act 3 doesn't add to the gameplay experience as much as these important additions.
Most importantly, I hope you allow an armour slot for pants or skirt, as I rarely go outside without them in real life. It makes connecting with the character quite hard. When you do, include jeans as armor class item, as that's pretty much the only kind of pants I can really identify with. Nothing like chain or crap like that, because I'd never be able to see myself wearing that.

Sure, opinions are welcome. It just seems very often that people think they are entitled to have anything they want. In this case a change that doesn't really do anything for the actual gameplay but, as you said, could only improve personal attachment to characters. The devs surely have more pressing things to do at this point.
I had no intention to make fun of you and there's no need to go for that brown-nosing thing about other players.
I can understand your problem with left-handed characters in this game, but maybe you shouldn't make it something you can't live with. Don't let it bother you so much that it destroys an otherwise great gaming experience.

I can see these as possibly being post-release features, and not high on the to-do list. The problem with Character Modeling of any kind in a game like this is that it's not simply just adding a slider that will change the height/weight/appearance of the character. This can severely complicate the making of gear and skill animations.

I'm sorry to notice that my post provoked the opener to call me a child and an ass-kisser, even though I do recognise that considering "a child" insulting I'm revealing my own internal ageist attitude. I'm equally sorry to think that he felt my post was making fun of him personally instead of the topic.
If I remember correctly the contents of my post that provoked such a response, I'd like to point out that in no place did I say that asking for handedness or character customisation otherwise was not alright. On the contrary, I think the most interesting part of the PoE fora are the suggestions, this one included. I just figured that instead of resorting to calling names, I'd present my differing opinion on the importance of said changes, in a manner more satisfying for myself. Mental masturbation, someone might think? Absolutely.
I'd like to believe that here it is purely different opinions battling it out, not the authors of the posts. My post was in no way aimed at you personally, purely at the issue at hand which I find not as essential as many others might. Startkabels, I sincerely hope you don't hold it against me that I express myself in ways often deemed totally idiotic by general public. Rightfully so.
In closing, the asskissing part attracted my interest, since we're on the subject: could I have the option to customise the ass I'm kissing, as a generic ass is much harder to connect with than a familiar-looking one.
