Resolution problem: game resets resolution from "1280x1024" to "1280x960"

For some reason, every time I start the game, it resets resolution from "1280x1024" to "1280x960". So every time I have to go to options, change display mode from "Windowed Fullscreen" (which is btw called "borderless") to "Windowed", then change resolution from "1280x960" to "1280x1024", change display mode back from "Windowed" to "Windowed Fullscreen" and then finally press "Apply display settings", "Save" & "Close".
This is sometwhat annoying.
My PC specs:

My monitor specs:

My OS specs:

WinXP SP3 with DX9 and all possible C++ restribs.

Screenshot:
My average FPS about 60-80 with everything on max except shadows (dont really see any reason in them).

Update: editing My documents\My Games\Path of Exile\production_Config.ini
"
resolution_height=1024
resolution_width=1280
didn't help. Game still starts in 1280x960.

That is because of the task bar.

You should be glad about the resolution because it counts as a wide-screen resolution and therefore your camera is more zoomed out and you see enemies sooner etc. ;)

You are wrong, 1280x960 is 4:3 aspect ratio resolution, and 1280x1024 is 5:4 resolution according to this list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphic_display_resolutions

SonicSonedit, once upon a time, I experienced somewhat smiliar problem as yours: some kind of annoying malware didn't allow me to save changes inside files with text in them. The changes just simply didn't save.
I'll pass this on to be looked into!

As I stated in post #2, I manually edited ini-file and changed resolution in it. Game just ignored that like nothing happened. I re-checked ini-file - it still has 1280x1024.

Thank you for your answer!
Also, I don't know if it related or not, or even is it bug or not, but still: when I start game it starts in background, game doesnt bring itself to foreground when loaded and doesnt appear on task bar until I alt-tab it to foreground. But I can still hear game is running - I can hear rain and music from login screen.

Still not fixed in 0.9.12h
Our UI guy now has this on his list to fix - It's one of those 'shouldn't be possible' bugs that don't have a simple solution.

Can I somehow assist you in fixing this? Providing data, running local tests on my PC, anything?
Still present in 0.9.12o. (Sorta bump)
