Getting Bad drop rates in Descent League?

I play most of the descent races with a couple of my friends in vent. I hear them finding rares left and right and at least getting them from the bosses at the end of each area. This is has been consistent for a lot of the races too. However almost ever race I rarely get a rare drops from any of the bosses at the end of the zones and even less from the champion/rare mobs. Am I just unlucky? I feel like I'm missing out on the fun of this race when they've increased drop rates but I'm getting worse drops than any other league.
