<<*Separation of PvP Player Base*>> Please read this GGG

I usually don't make those rant threads, but I feel like I should make this post in order to inform GGG or remind them about the current PvP situation.

I am clearly aware that PoE is not entirely based on PvP and has a great PvE/PvM aspect to it.

I respect those who prefer PvE/PvM over PvP, but I feel like that PvP has been neglected a little bit.

I understand that GGG has posted that they are coming up with updates in order to further improve to PvP, but I feel like that the updates are getting postponed or slightly forgotten.

No doubt GGG has done an amazing job coming up with regular updates/patches in order to add in new Uniques, skills, solve bugs, and even introduce a whole new League. They deserve a standing ovation for coming this far.

Nonetheless, the addition of a new League may have been a great change for many of the players, but the by doing so, you have separated the PvP player base even more, one that was never that big to begin with.

Before the addition of Anarchy and Onslaught, it was possible to have regular 3v3 matches without too much of a wait time.

However, after the new leagues, it is almost impossible. No, it IS impossible to get a 3v3 going, and I'm pretty certain the PvP community on all Standard, Anarchy, Onslaught and HC leagues and agree with me on that.

This may be very hard to do, and I may come off as ignorant due to my limited knowledge on programming and whatnot, but here are my suggestions.

1. Please make it possible for the players in different Gateway queues to be queued up against each other. As of right now, you can only be matched up against those who are in the same Gateway as you. The PvP would greatly appreciate if you could somehow make it possible for all the Gateways to be queued up against each other, much like how a person in the American Gateway can trade/party with someone from another Gateway.

2. This has been much requested. Please add a separate PvP Chat Channel so it is much easier to sell items that are clearly made for PvP characters, and also to set-up matches.

3. Adding in a legitimate ladder would strongly promote PvP and motivate players to further improve their characters/builds.

4. Please allow all the different Leagues to be queued up against each other.

I would like to go in depth with #4.

I'm certain that GGG has received countless positive feedback on the introduction of the Anarchy and Onslaught league. No doubt it is a whole new experience, but I feel like that by having so many separate leagues, you are dividing the community unintentionally.

I have thought deeply about this and I have thought of a viable solution.

After the season/x months of Anarchy, all the Anarchy players and items are transferred over to Standard. Onslaught players into Hardcore if they have not died, and Standard if they do. You guys (GGG) have made it so you can only farm/obtain certain uniques in certain leagues, but in the end, all those items are still going to be merged.

With that thought in mind, I think it would be a lot more beneficial to both GGG and the community if you had just made it so you can choose which league type you would like to be in when you create a new instance.

Standards will have the option of opening up a Standard/Anarchy type instance, whereas Hardcore League will have the option opening up a Hardcore/Onslaught type instance.

With this, players can decide which instance they would like to farm in, depending on which item it is they are trying to obtain. Also, by doing this, the player base will once against be returned back to the original Standard/Hardcore divisions.

I would greatly appreciate it if a GGG executive could give feedback on this thread.

you have summarized most of the issues we are constantly complaining about. I agree with most things and would definitely appreciate the ability to play from hardcore league against other leagues as well.

Not only is the gateway issue a big deal but, sometimes when I am in the same gateway, not the same town, it doesnt always work. I have to join their town most of the time to get in the same queue.

Not sure if the create a new instance and transfer to the similar league thing to farm items will go over well with GGG its kind of a interesting idea though. If they kept it so u can only get certain uniques in certain leagues they would need to add counter balancing items to adjust fairness. I think that may be more viable but still may cause problems.

I know it's pretty much a summary, hence why I included community a lot of the times

Also, the reason why I suggested the instance thing is because all the items that were only available for farming in Anarchy/Onslaught will be brought into Standard/Hardcore after the season is over.

So in my opinion, by having the option to create specific league type instances, you can still maintain/obtain what GGG has accomplished with the new leagues.

3v3 was dead well before onslaught and anarchy came out. The only reason they got off the ground the last couple months, was because I was organizing them for the most part.

Not that it changes much of what you said. Just thought I'd point that out. :)

Since it's summer break, I'll be putting more effort into organizing fights like how I'm trying to organize 3v3 teams : )

Not from me because the leagues repeat the same mistake from Legacy again and there isn't even an attempt to repair the economy aka heavily increase droprates of orbs so new players don't get discouraged by high prices, have more currency sinks for example heavily increase the amount of mods that can be rolled.

Or vendor receipes to increase gemlevels and set higher gemlevels on higher level reqs.
While I liked the materia system of FF7 I never liked exping gems and in PoE I consider it as a waste of time.

You find a quality gem you are level 80 and you have to play 5 more days playtime to level the gem on level 18.
Even more for level 19 or 20.
This is just stupid.

First you have to rebalance PVP from scratch!
Amethyst flasks are a horrible attempt to counter viperstrike in low level PVP.
Beartrap needs seperate damage tables for players, uniques, rares, champs and white mobs.
Freeze must be removed from PVP or limited to 1 second, without chance to stack.
There have to be more PVP tiers such as level 10, 42 and 59.
Same thing with shock-->No shotgun shockstacking anymore!
Leap Slam mustn't be based on movement speed anymore-->Make it constant.


You nerfed lifenodes but increased damage turning even CT events on White weapons into a one-two shot event.


PVP would require a league which gets changed every week and each set of weapons.

Meaning first every class pvps level 1-3 then 4-7 then 8-10, then 11-13 then 14-17 then 18-25 etc.


Or how about making some gems PVP viable.
Like blind reduces the field of vision.
Decoy totem automatically makes you attack the totem.
Flee makes you run away a bit.


Each major change in mods and Eq requires testing. There mustn't be Beartrap oneshotting, permafreezing, Viperstrike killing anymore.

This also means Physical and Elemental damage must be on par. At the moment elemental damage is around 4 times stronger than physical damage.
Equally balanced characters should be able to kill themselves with 4-5 hits not 1-2.

How is leap slam based on movement speed ? If you meant attack speed, that makes no sense either.

When was the last time you played LLD ?
I think when he meant the thing about the decoy totem, I think he was talking about the change he wanted.

Also, the thing about gem leveling.

I think it's totally fair to have that, and if you were to check the trade chat, you could see that people pay extra for leveled gems because they don't want to spend the time getting it on the same level as their other gems.

In addition, leap slam speed is dependent on your attack speed, not movement speed, and the rate of leaps/sec is still the same. GGG made it so if you jump further, your character jumps faster, but the time it takes for you to actually do 1 full leap slam is the same, whether its 1 pixel to the left or 1000 pixels to the left.

In my opinion, a separate trade chat for PvP would be extremely useful.

I'm pretty sure they will be adding in more level brackets, and when more are added, there will be a higher demand for certain level requirements. For instance, nobody seems to sell Level 28 gear in trade chat, and that's because they don't know about LLD that much or just don't care. However, there are certain people who are aware of the demand for good Level 28 weapons that would strongly benefit from this.

For LLD chill + temp is brutal. Apo was saying he was getting chill on someone with 2k life (10.0) doing only 200 damage. If you want to burn your flask trying to keep chill off from someone using FP, cold snap, ice spear and anything with added cold damage have fun losing the next 4 rounds.

I was having fun in LLD but the chill + temp combo just made it boring. I wanted a build without the OP skills, and it worked but against combos like that you need flicker and bear trap.
