Ezomyte Peak - good or bad?
I've been using the Ezomyte Peak helmet for a long time now because of its +20% physical damage. However, it doesn't have a whole load of armour and removes evasion, and I'm wondering if the damage bonus makes it worth wearing. Or getting Iron Reflexes and Unwavering Stance.

Good for leveling EK/Melee, but gets outclassed fast. I personally used it until cruel on my EK shadow

2 chaos pm me The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG

" +20% physical damage on an item really isn't a big deal except a) very early in the game or b) if you're doing something weird that means most damage-increasing passives won't work (e.g. using Bear Trap as your main damage-dealer). Certainly as a weapon user, if you need the damage you're better off just picking a couple more weapon passives and then using a helm with better defensive stats. I wouldn't use Ezomyte Peak beyond Normal difficulty. In the early game, that +20% physical damage matters a bit more, but so does the loss of evasion. In Normal difficulty, everyone can get a decent chance to evade, even with crap items and no support on the passive tree, so it's a waste to kill off your chance to evade at that stage (same applies to Iron Reflexes and Unwavering Stance - they are strong later, but it's not worth rushing to get them ASAP). Wear it for a bit of a damage boost, but take it off in favour of a more defensive helm as soon as you find monster attacks are giving you trouble. |
