cast time says .76 in the video. The same on the tooltip doesn't include RF or PA AFAIK, so that makes for a ~2.6x damage multiplier. Assuming critical hits are raising the DPS by another 28%, the average damage per hit may be around 7k. Without criticals (since while they do certainly add to average damage they are unreliable), I think it would be around 5.65k

Very cool build, I have been mulling over making a Tempest Shield build for a little while and found your handy setup. However I'm wondering - is it viable to create a TS build without using ES... using the Defence Boost% for HP/Armor instead?

P.S. I wouldn't be using Arctic Armor/Lightning Warp, or Zealot's Oath but still picking up the HP Regen Keystones.

As an added mechanic to boost HP Recovery, my idea was to get Devouring Totem and possibly some of the Totem/Aura Nodes to boost tanking aptitude as high as possible allowing TS to do it's thing.

Thoughts?

I like the fact you use added chaos, it should get all increased / more spell increases and if it crits, it could provide mighty helpful vs piety / gravicius / ES rares + mobs

And I have a feeling you would benefit more from lightning penetration / increased crit chance than from culling strike ... just saying

and use at least one elemental curse, this and lightning penetration should help a lot against slow attacking enemies :P

(oh and is the cast time only for casting the actual shield? or even the lightning 'backlash'? and does it hit ranged attackers at any range or does it have a range? in the video i can see it shock snakes but not sure if it has range or it will do it automatically)

Elemental Proliferation and Lightning Penetration is must have, imo.

Would start as the shadow and save 1 POINT! :)
With EP i think its worth to take every shock chance possible.
