At what level should I get ancestral bond? (trying to make a dual-totem build and not sure)

I'm going a Necromantic Dual Totem-Incinerate Templar build that i'm enjoying immensely.

I recently hit level 31 and pulled out my spell totem (with tiki skin :3) and put my (Blue) Incinerate on it and...the dps decrease was HUGE! D:

The totem flinched every time it got hit and since the mobs would run right up too it it would only get a few blasts of that blue fire before dying.

I'm currently good on defence for the next dozen or so levels on my templar so i'm going to spend the next few levels buffing my skeletons/Zombies Damage/HP (mostly HP...they don't really need to do damage just soak it up and distract for my Me/my totems eventually)

So I ask of you...when is a good time to go Ancestral Bond? Is there a way too fix the Totems flinching thing? How much %Life boost do my zombies need before they're better at being the meatshields I want them too be?

Also isn't this thing awesome! It gives a 30% range increase on my incinerate which is SOOOO nice...and the Dex boost and movespeed is very appreciated as well.
The flinching is the totem getting stunned, getting more health will help, but you may consider using a blind support gem with incinerate. Due to its very fast cast speed it is a very efficient blinder. I have run incinerate totems before (and flame totems) and never found this particularly neccisary once the spell totem gem was leveled a bit, but some like it very much.

As for when to do ancestral, I usually do it around 35ish, but really whenever you feel your totems are doing "good" damage, which is of course different for different people, some don't mind a bit of a slow down in clear speed if it means actually using their build faster. Also remember once you get ancestral you'll still be able to use traps and mines to do damage.

Thanks for the help!

The blind thing is a good idea...I might have to run a few tests with it.

From the looks of my build I'll be hitting Ancestral Bond level 40-ish..I'm go grab that 30% increase in fire damage before switching too the dual-totems thing. After that I'm going for that Minion Buffing passives...that should work.

btw how do I increase Totem Life? I'll of course get the node buffing life near ancestral bond but is there any other way?
