Closed Beta - Open Beta

Sorry if this has been posted or asked before.

But I'm guessing there will be a full wipe when PoE comes out of Closed Beta to Open Beta?

Could be, wouldn't really matter to me though.

I hope it is wiped, tho I don't understand the reason for closed beta on a free to play game.

Unless the closed beta is used just to slowly introduce players as a stress test.

The server stress stuff you mentioned is on reason, but it is also about controlling the message and marketing of what people think.

If two many people see it in some unfinished state, a stigma will get attached to the game that it cannt crawl out from under...

This is the reason... small team with limited resources, so they are ramping it up with what they can handle at a time.
