Download Looping

Hey guys really need some help.
Have downloaded most of the game for the public weekend.

Have around 120MB left to go and the download is now getting too 10MB off 120MB left and then all of a suddenly looping back to 6MB and download gets back to 10MB and it drops back to 6MB again.

Have tried the Packcheck, turned off anti virus and firewall.

Any ideas.

Not sure, Did it ever finish?

Sounds like it was losing packets and having to redownload them. (Speculating)

Did you get any sort of error?

Did the patcher ever finish, or did you just close it?

If you haven't already, try just letting the patcher run - it *should* either finish eventually or throw an error.

My current guess would be that it's failing on a particular file and then retrying it - if you just let it run it should switch over to the backup servers after a few tries, and if it keeps failing there it should throw up an error message.
Thanks for the suggestions.

It has not finished the download so
i let it run for some time and it gave an and error.

Error: Unrecognized or bad HTTP content or transfer-Encoding while downloading

I do remember after running Packcheck it said that ShaderCache.dat was out of sync and had been repaired.
Sounds like the same thing as another user reported, response here.

It actually looks like you're both in a similar area, it would be interesting to see if the route you both take to our servers is similar too. On the other hand it may just be two separate proxies that are both having a problem with that file for some reason.

I'll do some tests to try to determine if there's something about that file that could be causing problems.
I was able to fix the download by running PackCheck and then changing to a different ISP.

Strange but it worked I hope this can help the other chap.
What ISP did you change From?

:)

Several people are getting similar errors...

Curious, are you close to Argentine?
