Client freezes computer, then corruption

Upon completing the opener of act 2 (before the outpost), a second after the loading screen appeared (I think), the screen when black (with some lines), and my computer would not respond to commands (alt-f4, enter, esc, alt-tab, shutdown)

upon restarting and running PoE again, an error message appears saying
"error opening witch/dead_color.dds"

Which i thought was rather strange considering no one in my party was a witch from what I recall (perhaps there was one in the outpost or something)

Ran a pack check:
/Art/Textures/Characters hash isn't in sync. Repaired.
/Art/Textures hash isn't in sync. Repaired.
/Art hash isn't in sync. Repaired.
(all of those is where the witch dds file was)
/Metadata/Effects/Spells/monsters_effects/inca_shadow/red hash isn't in sync. Repaired.

Still get the same error. Guess I'll have to get rid of content.ggpk again.
