Shock Nova in 0.11.0
To fix a problem the Devs must recognize the problem. So far I don't think they consider Shocking Nova to be problematic.

How about it works like razors lightning nova from Dota? It expands outward, then contracts back inward, and deals more damage at the outer reaches.

" The mana cost is still pretty bad despite being reduced recently. The damage is a little low (as with all aoes) since they assume that all parts of the nova are doing damage at the same time. If you were actually surrounded (and making the most out of shock nova), you'd be dead before you knew it. It's not a projectile and can't get the free 1.5x damage multiplier from Chain, nor the 2.5x damage multiplier from GMP (in the case of FP). The only thing it gets is the 1.69x damage multiplier from Concentrated Effect and you'll be even more likely to die in melee. So what's left for it? Spreading shock mostly. qual SN + qual eleprolif + qual added lightning + increased aoe, then use something else for damage. --- Here's to hoping they look at support balance some day. |

" The damage is massive on it dude, with a decent gear you get to ridiculous amount of light damage on shock nova, but youc ant do that damage casue of the damn dead zone, they just have to remove it.. One issue with that is that mobs will have it and it will be a hug disadvantage to melee players. If it gets changed there need to be a different version for mobs/ ai and players.

Eh, just add blind to the inner radius. If you don't have to worry nearly as much about being hit because something desynced inside your damage radius, the skill will be viable again, and you're not changing the fact that it's still a more mobile skill than frost nova. You still have to get away from monsters that make it inside, you just have more time to do it.

I still feel Shock Nova is usable due to its niche as best shock-status applier (damage not really considered). For example, I consider it the best "attack" for non-Conduit summoner builds.
