So after 76h played, doing Breach every map, I think I can give my full judgement on the rework.
I personally think the old style Breach was simply more fun. The new loot (Grafts/Tree) are what made the league interesting. The new wave defense encounters are pretty tedious now and I don't like how much space they occupy in the map so they aren't easily ignored. Hive Fortresses are in the same vain. Wouldn't it be for the huge amount of Graftblood earned, I would just ignore them. The new unstable Breach encounters also feel less fun the than the classic ones. The old ones just felt juicier (more enemies I think?) and the race against the time seeing how big you can make it was so much fun. With the new ones it's very predictable. Just slay a set amount of monsters and with a fast build usually you have to wait around a bit for the monsters to spawn. Also just the new one new boss or 4 samey rares at the end. Unpredictably spawning Breach lords in the old ones mid-Breach were just way more exciting in a chaotic PoE way imo. So long story short, I think Breach never really needed a rework in its mechanic, it was always so much fun. It's just the rewards that were kind of bad imo. I think the new PoE2 style breach monsters are probably here to stay and of course they look sleeker. But if it were for me, I would just do Breach like it is in PoE2 - classic Breach encounters and just slap the new skin on. Rework the rewards and I would love if boss type enemies were back to just spawning randomly mid-Breach. Last bumped on Nov 8, 2025, 6:53:23 AM
