That the game doesn't pause inside the settings window is a total travesty.

Like why? What's the point of the feature? You don't even apply it consistently with other game menus which are distinctly separate from the action portion of the game, like when the player scry's a map, fair enough it's your game but not having it on the options menu itself is just dumb.
