I hate poe1 "boss fights" type of difficulty on Maven's example, cause it can be good

As i mention "Maven" is absolutely terrible boss, which require lot of s-t for fair fight, thats why most of old players spit on it and just chooses meta to kill this fast without tasting this complexity.

There are: eternal high ground damage projectiles which can easily ruin run with big aoe on small arena and with high damage, beams on last stage which nulify any healing for 10+ seconds, and Maven which loves to be offscreen and start puzzle which requeres too much movement speed and screen, what a shit terrible fight this is still.
I can't get habit that it's ok, it's not and i think that this is awful boss with such type of obstacles. btw ggg added new tree after ubers which i kill only to get last challenge and drop game...

I really wasn't impressed when Mark and John said that 2nd part was focused on bosses, but they really didn't test themselves what are bosses in 1st part, where most of danger from bosses are too many dps ground effects and offscreen shit

The only aspect of Maven that is almost universally disliked is the memory-game bullshit. The actual fight is fine.
General discussion gaming forums are almost always a cesspit of ignorance and trolls.
In that regard, I like PoE2 better. Bosses there are designed with the intent to have them in one try, not 6. Will see in what direction this goes.
Iv always had a really hard time to see at the end where it goes, and im just in general very very bad at remembering, im the person who needs to hamemr stuff in multiple times over and over for long times.

So when its maven time, i expect to be needing 5-10 invitations to get it done. Normal not the fancy one :)

If the memory game was changed/removed i would love to do the fight more times, but as it is, i always just try and get 1 kill on normal. Then avoid.
Cant have to much Junk in your Stash
Problem is, this entire game, not just boss fights, enemy damage/hp in general is sculpted based on Streamers, they push their builds to limits, show off to others via stream or youtube videos, then GGG tries to create difficulty by force. They just cant settle with fact that there will be point where you will be good in game, and make fun of their bosses by tanking every hit and killing them in few seconds. They just cant accept it, so they buff damage and health to beyond limits of casual players, forced difficulty with phases where boss health is stopped on threshold, boss moves that kill you as scripted event ignoring defenses etc. Because less than 1% of Poe player base they put toll on others.

What would mr Siklic do if he was in this post?

Maven is difficult at first, but it is not mechanically challenging once you learn the fight. I have done the fight on league starters with crappy DPS. The regular version is quite forgiving too as the puddles disappear between phases until the last. Not sure this is a hill to die on
The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
maven is fine after you master the memory game IMO. Which can be quite hard, i guess, but practice makes perfect. I find exarch more annoying by far, i'm too old for this bullethell shit.
Current Build: Penance Brand

Of all the uber bosses the Maven is the one I haven't beaten. I can't do the memory game, sorry, it pisses me off so much my brain just short circuits

Que?! Memorygame is one thing that makes the fight good and unique...

But yeah, Maven is for sure my fav boss from both games so guess its a skill issue

Memory game could be hard in the start but just get 20 invites and practice it. And you just have to remember a 4 tile movement pattern as you can stand on the first on the edge of the second and then memorize the last 4 tiles

And as it never can be the same its always a 50/50 if you forget one 😅

Sounds like a bias shitty opinion to me...

The fights are not balanced for meta builds as my characters with metabuilds the last 4 leagues will insta phase maven so fast the hp bar doesnt pop up...

So how is that balanced around streamers? Sure im one of the lowlifers but its not balanced around it as if it was they wouldve way more dmg/hp.

If you know the fight it is super fair and everything is well telegraphed without big flashy arrows telling you exactly where to go. If you need that you can try PoE2
