Struggle to maintain 60 FPS
|
Hey guys, I struggle hitting 60 FPS (specialy during Legion) also I can't get a good visual clarity (but I think it's more a PoE problem than specs)
My specs are : AMD Ryzen 7 5700X 8 core - RTX 4060Ti - 16GB of RAM All my graphic option in game are set to low, even sound effect I also notice that some maps run better on my computer, like Underground river compare to Jungle Valley (the map I usualy farm Q_Q) I believe it's a common topic that spawns here and there but I wanted to know if people with my specs have the same FPS in average ? " You can make the game look better - and perform worse - by doing the following;
" A lot of graphical settings increase the workload specifically on your RTX 4060 Titanium - but as an ARPG, Path of Exile will (at least sometimes) be bottlenecked by your Ryzen 7 5700X. What are these settings set to?
They should all be found quite close together, and in that order. GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support. Free Technical Support guides are available here: https://www.poecommunity.help No ads, trackers, or other weird stuff. Last edited by Sarno#0493 on Oct 26, 2025, 11:37:18 AM

Thanks for answering boss !
Dynamic Resolution is already set to Disabled Rendering Mode : Windowed Fullscreen Window Resolution : 1920*1080 Render Resolution : No Upscale - 1920*1080 Renderer : DirectX12 Vertical Sync : Off Antialiasing Quality : Off Upscale Mode : NIS Just as an additional info, when I play Ice trap of hallowness I can't see due to heavy white AoE (Bloom is at min). And when I play Earthshatter my screen has some big distortion with all the explosion |

Christ, that's awful.
I don't mean to recommend this as a serious workaround for the long-term; but if you change the mode to Exclusive Fullscreen and the resolution to 1280x720, does performance improve? (Using the 'F1' in-game metrics might help with A/B testing such as this.) Performance does seem rather... egregiously bad in this case. Does playing after performing a Windows Clean Boot make much of a difference at all? GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

As wierd as it may sound, I have the same FPS with 1280x720 than 1920x1080 lmao
Something might be off in my computer, someone on reddit has the same specs as I do and said to me that they don't have any issue |

I was suspecting a CPU bottleneck - which a change in rendering resolution should assist with.
I think you might be right - I do still wonder if a Clean Boot would be insightful. If a Clean Boot doesn't materially change the performance you see in-game, my next curiosity would be whether playing while the free version of HWMonitor runs in the background, dutifully tracking the 'worst' temperature recorded for e.g. your CPU & GPU, finds anything interesting. If one or both of them are struggling due to thermal challenges - perhaps dust is accumulating, or maybe thermal paste needs to be replaced - they could be refusing to 'clock up' as you would expect them to, resulting in performance which is consistently unimpressive for the specs that you have. If it is a thermal issue, my first guess - given the observed symptoms - would be the processor. Just to be on the safe side - certain driver versions feature bugs where a web browser running with Hardware Acceleration enabled interferes with clock speeds. It might be worth either toggling that off temporarily for testing purposes - or, perhaps preferably - just playing without the web browser open at all on a single occasion to see whether the issue is still reproducible. https://www.poecommunity.help/miscellaneous/other/hardware-acceleration GGG do not offer first-party Technical Support.

Are we certain this GPU is running at the right negotiation to sustain higher than 60? Is it in the proper slot?
This all sounds like a configuration issue (nvidia, windows, hardware, driver, etc..) While I don't think you're off track with the CPU portion Sarno, I think we need to verify this. How about a screenshot of GPU-Z Last edited by Eleven777#0993 on Oct 26, 2025, 6:09:25 PM
