chaos/divine exchange rate depends on the time and server
I discovered that the rate for chaos/divine is not a banking service at fix rate offered by NPC but varies on time and depends on the server you are connected to !
The problem This is a problem for my object i sell at 130C or 1 div 2 weeks ago, one is now twice cheaper than the other, and i need to adjust price ! This is insane, i expect fixed exange rate for basic currency chaos/divine <rant>
Spoiler
My best action was to convert my tons of chaos to several divines at a rate near 135c/1d two weeks ago, and NOT play, last week inflation has mostly doubled my currency values (253c/1d). This is much better than everything i did while playing. This is crazy, good traders earns more than average players ! I understand this is end game speculation and the price tend to become the same as in standard league, and farmers/traders are anticipating (i don't care, but it causes me trouble for buy/sell objects) I investigate a little, the price for 1 divine as of today also varies aroung the real world servers Paris : 253 c for 1 divine California : 240 c Singapore : 230 c The solution It would be very simple to fix the rate in Standard league (at the current rate 250c/1d) , AND in next league from start , so that chaos / divines rate are fixed and can be reliably used as currency, not to speculate. For Standard and the next leagues GGG can set up an infinite pool of currency at a given rate (the one in current standard league to not spoil players) GGG bank buy 1 div for 250c , sell at 255C , (2% margin, and several gold coins if needed) this will stop inflation and discrepancies betweens servers, and normal players can trade without being spoiled buy professional traders :-) Last edited by Dolgrund#5637 on Oct 20, 2025, 4:44:24 AM Last bumped on Oct 21, 2025, 6:01:53 AM

" I doubt that changing servers actually changed the value. The values available for exchange are unfilled orders from other players that have been left up. What you saw were people leaving new orders for lower values in the time it took you to log out, change server, log in, talk to Faustus, and open the Currency Exchange. The only fixed values for trading are the exchanges available from the NPCs that sell flasks, such as Lana in the endgame town. Those rates kind of cap values, but only work one way; for reference, a quote from the wiki: " Otherwise, the values are completely up to players--the only things GGG might change are drop rates, and very rarely, uses for the currency (the change from Exalts to Divines for crafting, when Divines previously had very low value). Having fixed exchange rates like these would very much lead to inflation. Divine Orbs haven't been worth 250 Chaos any time in this league, and were only worth over 210 for a short for around a day. With the fixed rates you suggested, you wouldn't sell your divines for the paltry rates players could offer, devaluing chaos. The value of chaos would be fixed, at a lower value than it has been in challenge leagues in a long time, which would affect your ability to use Chaos to trade for...well, anything. Lastly: because the Currency Exchange is entirely trades between players, and you're suggesting adding non-player trade offers to the market--this falls under Feedback and Suggestions, not Bug Reports. |
