XP Loss at Pinnacle boss is still in place, at least for me.
I just lost 10% XP after a death in an Uber Cortex.
I was at 66% of level 99 and I am now at 56% after the first death in almost two weeks. Can you comprehend what is 10% of level 99 for someone who is not a streamer and have a worklife? Players can no longer gain or lose experience in the following areas: Absence of Mercy and Empathy, Absence of Patience and Wisdom, Absence of Symmetry and Harmony, Absence of Value and Meaning, Crux of Nothingness, Eye of the Storm, Polaric Void, Seething Chyme, The Sacred Grove, The Shaper's Realm, and The Maven's Crucible. It also did consume my 300 chaos Omen of Amelioration when supposedly there is no XP loss to "prevent" in the first place. I would ask you to fix it, but whatever. Back to not doing any boss I guess. " People have complained about this in both PoE and PoE2. Omen of Amelioration's only activation requirements are "you died" and "you haven't used an Omen in this instance", so it can still activate if you're under 2.5% of XP to the next level, or if in an area where you do not gain or lose XP. " You may not have noticed that Cortex is not in that list of areas. Regarding why it's not on there: (source) "When fighting Pinnacle Bosses--specifically, boss fights that consist of only an Arena with a boss in it, such as Maven or Elder--you can no longer gain experience, but more importantly, you cannot lose experience if you die to them." The Cortex map does not only consist of a boss and an arena, so it does not fulfill the conditions they set for this change. This change is implemented as an area modifier, which can be viewed while in an applicable zone. If they applied it to Cortex in this way, you also wouldn't gain or lose experience from the Synthesized monsters that inhabit the rest of the map, which goes against their intentions. |

Thank you for your reply.
Honest opinion, that is such a poor implementation of the concept that I am not even surprised at all. Was really that hard to implement a condition like "the mob grant xp in uber zone -> you lose xp mob or boss doesn't grant experience -> you have no exp loss" Cheers. |
