What account to use for PoE2

TDLR: I can't restore my D4 purchases so gonna play PoE2 EA instead.

Background: I bought/played/or whatever you wanna call it PoE1 in Xbox. I have a bunch of MTX. I didn't get an early PoE2 access key. So just gonna buy one.

I had been planning to play PoE2 EA last December but IRL stuff happened.

Anyway here's what I am confused of:

- Should I buy PoE2 key in Steam?
- Should I just buy it from this website? https://www.pathofexile.com
- Should I use this Xbox account to login to this PoE2 game? I was told back last year my MTX will transfer to PoE2
- Will the MTX transfer across platforms? So I wanna play via PoE2 PC and not Xbox anymore because the economy/market in Xbox with PoE1 sucks

Anything I need to be aware of?

So one thing I wanna avoid is what happened to my purchases in Battle.net

1. Because I deleted my Battle.net account, my purchases that were done on the same email and Paypal are no longer restorable because they are tied on Battle.net

2. But if I bought the game from Steam, deleting the Battle.net account only destroys the progress but the game is restorable and usable with a new Battle.net account

I wanna avoid the same issue here with PoE2.

1. If I buy the key via this website, if I delete my GGG account, I assume I will lose access to the game and will need to buy the game again.

2. If I buy the game via Steam, if I delete my GGG, account, I will lose access to my progress but I can still install the game with another GGG account.

3. But I guess for PoE1 and soon for PoE2 once it becomes pure free to play, this won't be an issue either of being able to install the game and play

Ok fair enough. I sent an email just now with the same set of questions.

But I was also hoping other members might be able to share similar experiences.

I wanna share an update on this thread:

1. I got an email response from the GGG support team

2. I am using my PoE 1 account that I used on my Xbox Series X console on my PoE 2 account on my PC

3. I am able to see all my MTX from PoE 1 Xbox on my PoE 2 PC game

4. I am not able to use all the MTX skins (understandably). I am able to use some

5. Same for stash tabs.

All good.
