How does blocking scarab work?

So, ive already seen a video that blocking scarabs does not affect how many scarabs drop, however i do wonder how does it affect which type it drops in terms of rarity.
If i were to block all league mechanics, i should be able to have a higher chance to drop a containment scarab and/or awakening scarab right? Less scarabs to choose from?
