Need advices to finish crafting a wand

Hello,

I'm fairly new to crafting and not yet very familiar with Craft of Exile, so I'd really appreciate some guidance to finish this wand:



I've already blocked all the suffixes (they're T1), and now I'd like to remove the "Attacks with this weapon penetrate 16% elemental resistances" mod, which isn't useful for my caster. I'm hoping to replace it with the best 2-prefix combination for pure spell damage, ideally including something like "Gain x% of non-chaos damage as extra chaos damage".

Do not avoid https://www.craftofexile.com/. Make sure to practice everything there before you do it in-game.

The best 2-prefix combination is likely too expensive to craft like that. Exception: You want one of the chaos mods and a crafted one. The chaos mods can be forced relatively cheap onto the wand. In any case for such crafting questions you should add how much currency you are willing to spend and which mods exactly you want.

You can however try to use Veiled Chaos or Veiled Exalt.

Either: Scour + craft "Suffixes cant be change" + Veiled Exalt.

Or: Use Veiled Chaos on wand as is. This has a chance to brick it. Chance to brick it may be (not sure, try in craftofexile) ~6% (including attempt to fix with Annul). According to craftofexile this wont work but IIRC it does work in game - not 100% sure though. If it doesnt work you have to use the same method as in the Veiled Exalt case.

For Unveiling craft a blocker mod to improve the odds of hitting the veiled mod you want. Best is probably one of the "increased physical damage" mods.

The last mod in either case will have to be a crafted one.


Edit: If you want T1 Spell Damage or such you have to start with it. Trying to put this onto such a wand (without Recombination) would be a huge waste of currency.

I've made some progress using Craft of Exile, which helped me better understand your suggestions.
I'll wait a bit to see if any other advice comes up, otherwise I'll try my luck with the Veiled Chaos Orbs.

"Chaos Mods": The normal (not veiled, crafted, etc) mods that you get when you click the 'Chaos' button in craftofexile:
+1 Chaos Spell Skill
Adds (56-87) to (105-160) Chaos Damage
You probably dont want either of these. If you really do want one of them ask again.

With 20 Divines you have low odds to score the desired mod with Veiled Exalt as 1x Veiled Exalt is ~= 20 Divines according to poe.ninja. Veiled Chaos would be cheap though.
Note that I dont play trade league and cant give advice on whats economically better.

I got lucky on my first try with a Veiled Chaos Orb :)
Not only did I avoid bricking the item with a bad prefix, but I also landed a decent +% spell damage veiled mod (though not the one with added chaos).

Overall, I'm quite happy with the result considering the investment. I'll stop here, this is already a solid upgrade for my build.
