Heist "mission object" disappeared, so mission cannot be fulfilled.

Karst, "green" contract "Karst revenge"

i was given an object (looks like a potion)
i killed some monsters and open some chess, then get back to harbour in order to not lose the precious stuff in case i die.

At that moment, the "mission object" disapeared, so i cannot fulfill the mission (and get no reward, and no xp for Karst...)


The same thing happened with another mission, with tools.
This is a bit annoying, and seems just a simple bug (like clear things too early)

I believe that is what happens with the quest contracts (needing to be completed in one go without leaving the heist). I would check with Karst in case he can provide you with the item again, though you likely did.

Normally you can leave a heist to stash items, as long as the alarm hasn't gone off (this was initially problematic in 3.12 Heist league due to instance management issues). During the Heist league, there was a lot of confusion from players when the quest items remained in their inventory after failing or leaving the area (thinking they were unable to drop or destroy them), so this may have something to do with the items disappearing now.


If it's any consolation, you will keep finding these quest contacts again in smuggler's caches as long as they remain incomplete. The area level of the quest contract will depend upon where you find the quest.

The initial contract for Karst (to get his lockpicks) will also keep being provided by Kurai until it is completed successfully. Players sometimes (or used to) deliberately fail certain quest contracts to farm items.
