rate limit

How long can we tolerate this, I just can't buy anything in the trade league using your resource, after each trade it sends me to a timeout for 2000 seconds,. You strangled a competitor and you yourself can't support a trading site? Then why are you taking on this? Why didn't such a problem exist before this league? It seems or are you trying to deceive us?

I've literally never seen a Rate Limiting message on the trade site.

Are you using a shared connection (e.g. college campus; gaming cafe) ? Are you using any third-party price-checking tools which could be hitting the API too frequently?
This problem appears even without using additional software, with a standard search on the site, I don’t have any browser extensions
Being rate-limited in the tool you're using will also rate-limit you on the website.

So using the site slows it down? I pointed out that this happens even if I don't use any additional software, just the browser page.
It hasn’t been clear what you mean by that.

Do you mean 1) you observe this behaviour even after not using any such tools for at least a day, or, 2) that if you use a third-party price checking tool to spam GGG’s Trade API which will get your IP address rate-limited, you’re still rate-limited if you go to use the website directly?

I use the trade website as much as I want, and I’ve literally never seen that error message. If you’re seeing it regularly, there’s something else going on. That’s not the usual experience.
Not using the site for a whole day? What's the point of playing at all then? No, I didn't take such breaks. The problem started literally a couple of days ago, maybe a week ago, before that there were no such problems. As for the second point - yes, if I turn off all the auxiliary resources and wait for the specified limit, then I will still get a new limit.

P.S. I have literally never seen giraffes in real life, but that doesn't mean they don't exist, right? I registered 10 years ago, and this is my first topic, if it weren't for the problem that bothers me, I wouldn't be here.
Okay.

I am not trying to be rude here - but the communication in this thread has been awful.

Let's recap;

Post #1: You create the thread briefly outlining the issue.

Post #2: I ask you to clarify the situation, as it hasn't been clear 1) how many third-tools (if any) you use in addition to PoE's official trade website, and, 2) how recently you have been using those tools.

Post #3: You don't really provide any detailed information here. You say it happens "without using additional software." We really need to know what kind of time frame you mean.

Post #4: Rory from GGG clarifies that rate-limiting does not apply to your use of the official website, or to your use of third-party tools: it applies to YOU - regardless of what you use.

Post #5: You essentially repeat what you said in the third post, without further narrowing down exactly what you mean. Nobody other than you yet understands your use of third-party tools.

Post #6: I post again, asking you to clarify. I do this because we desperately need you to be more specific and detailed in what you say, or it will be impossible for anyone - GGG staff or otherwise - to attempt to help you.

Post #7: You respond, having misconstrued my post in at least two different ways. After I have posted asking "do you mean that... or...", you reply to me referring to "my second point" - I wasn't making two separate points; I was asking you to be clearer on which of the two best represents what you are saying. In addition, I had only been asking about any third-party tools you use - I had not referred to you going 24 hours without using GGG's official trade website.

I understand you are frustrated - anyone creating a thread in Technical Support always will be. I appreciate that, when we are frustrated, we can be prone to reading things quickly and rushing to respond. But you are not taking sufficient time to correctly interpret the posts you respond to - nor are you yourself writing posts that contain enough information for anyone to help you.

A lot of people playing Path of Exile use community-developed (i.e. non-GGG) tools to do things for them such as to price-check loot drops, or to help them trade with other players. What basically all of these have in common is that they can only work by asking GGG's server for information.

This is the same server that powers https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search - and the tools you use will be communicating with that server using the same IP address as what your web browser would be using if you manually used the official trade website.

Regardless of whether you are using a third-party tool to price-check, or using a third-party tool to find trades, or using the official website - every request you make will contribute to you being rate-limited if the combined number of requests becomes excessive.

As has been said in this thread already - if you get rate-limited at all, you will be rate-limited globally - your use of the official website will be rate-limited, your use of the Trade API through third-party tools will be rate-limited; everything. The limit applies to you; not to your usage of a specific tool.

I understand you are frustrated. Frankly, this thread has been making me frustrated.

Until and unless you are willing to be more helpful in your own posts - such as by clarifying whether you use any third-party tools (e.g. Awakened PoE Trade) - I, and I suspect most people, are just going to assume your combined usage of such a tool and your use of the official trade website are resulting in you being rate-limited. We've tried to help you. You haven't really let us do that.
Also, I had asked whether you're using a shared internet connection, but that went ignored.

Just no effort made to work with the people trying to help you whatsoever.

Super frustrating.
