Not gaining petals from memory

I did a memory map and cleared it completely and got a total of 9 petals, could not even use the effect once. i kept seeing the petals icon on screen when i killed mobs but i would not gain any.

Same here. It doesn't seem to be linked to the available memory skill. I will gain between 0 and 10 petals for an entire map when this occurs.
