Big repetative ping spikes / Disconnect

Every now and then it seems some interaction creates latency problems which sometimes ends up in disconnecting me into log in menu, unable to connect for a couple of minutes.
Sometimes ping spikes throughout an area, and sometimes ping raises to 9999+ and disconnects. (sometimes it seems like a unit or a boss interaction for instance, causes the disconnect)

Every time disconnect happens, all map portals vanishes, which is bothersome

most server connections for other games seem to be running smooth at a stable ping around 20

is there something i can do to prevent these spikes and disconnects?
