Why are Microtransactions purchased in POE2 not allowed to use.

Legion Commander Armour set says "This microtransaction is not supported in this game version. That is purchased when POE2 came out. Why is this unavailable to use now? If so how do I get a refund on it as it worked in POE2 until the new season came out.
