I cannot see my old stash in new hunters league

I created a new character and my stash is empty. When I go back to my old character, I can see my stash. How can I use my stash in new hunters league?

To clarify, a new league is an opportunity to start with a fresh economy, so you will not have access to your old items when starting in a new league.
