Cant trade

I am hoping someone can tell me what I am doing wrong. I am still very new to this game and still learning.
My first few charterers have been in Settlers League and then I made one on Phrecia League. I never tried to trade in the Settlers but have been trading in Phrecia with no problems. So i made a new charterer in Settlers and started to try trading in there. I would get someone interested and try inviting them to my party and it would say that they are in a different league. You say you’ve started playing in a different league.
Have you told the website that?  "VPs are not required to change their posting style. They are still welcome to express their opinions and take part in any discussions they wish. Their only responsibility is to continue doing what they have always done - posting in a friendly and constructive manner."
