Unexpected Disconnection every 15-30mins
Downloaded POE on 2 Mar and played until 11 Mar without any unexpected disconnections. Beginning 12 Mar, the game has an Unexpected Disconnection every 15-30minutes. Makes the game virtually unplayable for specific areas.
My network is solid but could use some help troubleshooting. System info:

Things I have tried:
Different Gate way - same slightly variable in disconnects created a new character to test equipment/skills - still disconnects slight variable in time Adjusting options Window Resolution - Full screen - Full screen windowed - Windowed Render -DirectX11 -DirectX12 -Vulcan Vsync -Adaptive -Off -Locked Tripple buffering -enabled -disabled reducing FPS caps Network Mode -Predictive -Lockstep -Auto Whats the normal wait time for support to follow up? |

" Support usually doesn't involve themselves with forum technical support issues and usually leaves it up to other players to assist. As far as the WinMTR that you included an image of, there's one glaring issue starting between your PC and your router with 1% packet loss that goes all the way to the bottom and the same for the high ping spike that likely happened at the same time. Now whether this is the cause of your disconnect or not idk, but I'd recommend running a few more shorter tests (around 500-600) pings to compare. Is your PC connected via Ethernet or WiFi? Since you're on 24H2, verify the network adapter power savings are disabled to prevent a potential sleep mode issue. |

Thank you for the response, bummed to hear that support doesnt monitor the tech-support forum.
The settings for my system have not changed since I downloaded the game on 2 March, but the Unexpected Disconnects started 11 March. As far as I know nothing has changed configuration wise. My connection is WiFI. I restarted my router in hopes that may have something to do with it but, the disconnects continue. I checked my adapter power savings and unchecked the option to turn it off to save power. I am running the WinMTR a few more times to see about consistency in the pings. The WinMTR results seem pretty consistent.

I'm sure GGG staff monitor the tech support forum, they just don't usually post unless necessary. I'm pretty sure they take in some of the information that floats around here and it helps them diagnose issues which are within their control.
All of those show the same issue of high latency and loss between your PC and your router. Can you try disabling BT in Windows? Also, try connecting to your router via WiFi 5 instead of 6 or 7. There are a lot of issues posted all over Microsoft forums and Reddit for the 7921 (previous model). I'm going to assume there is something related to a bad wireless adapter, Windows setting, WiFi 6, or intermittent interference going on causing your high ping spikes and packet loss locally. Edit: I'm not 100% familiar with your Wifi card, but it seems if there's an option to disable roaming on it AND possibly disabling WiFi 6 might help. Not that things dont change but if the game ran great for 9 days and all of a sudden there's an issue with the settings, just seems strange. Of course i have no data prior to the issue to back it up, unfortunately.
Bluetooth is off. Wifi is in the 5 range. I'm bout to just give it up. Shot an email to the tech support gonna call it a night for how. Thank you for trying to help Eleven. |

After many frustrated hours of diagnostic and configuration evaluation, the simple solution is correct. It appears to be an ISP issue, because I am able to use my phone as a hot spot and connection has been solid with no disconnects.
While taking a break and scrolling through youtube shorts, I noticed I was getting pop ups notifications that network connectivity had been lost and a few seconds later restored. Thank you again Eleven for offering assistance and suggestions. Hope this helps others if needed. |
