Well, it does work. It works better than it should, since they prevented streaks of failed checks from occurring.
The problem isn't evasion. It's the general frailty of evasion-based characters. Closed Beta/Alpha Tester back after a 10-year hiatus.

I really liked the idea about allowing evasion to cause a damage roll to hit for the minimum of the range.
