GCP making it better

Alright Gemcutter Prism the currency that slowly gets worse the longer the game runs, now how do we make it better?

I propose that gem quality now has 3 different types of quality ill use cleave as an example.
Cleave gets +1% attack speed per 2 quality but with my system it would have a chance to get green quality and blue quality instead of its normal red quality.

So when you use a gcp it has a lets say 7/10 to get red quality (+1% attack speed per 2 quality), a green quality (+3% accuracy per 1 quality), and a blue quality (+2% crit chance per 1 quality) this would also give you a chance either to change scouring to remove the last quality point or introduce a new gem to remove 1 quality from the gem.

This gives the game another gcp sink and more custamization as you can have speed cleaves, accuracy cleaves, crit cleaves and hybrid cleaves this of course would be applied to other gems possisbly only to skill gems and not supports or possibly to all gem types.


I decided that what I wrote above wouldnt work, people dont want more frustrating RNG so now I've gone with what I wrote below

It should be a choice where all gcps are blank upon receiving them but when vedored with a colored skill gem the gcp takes a color gcp+red gem= red gcp etc and when it is applied to a item it gives it a different quality bonus. This would give another sink for gcp and all those gems we hoard as well as allowing more custimazation. Now players would be possibly gcping a gem from 1-20 instead of the current 12-20 this would also increase the value and reward of finding any quality gem as it might get the right combination of quality bonuses.

any thoughts? No idea if anything similar has been suggested as I lazily wrote this without checking.

edit: also i didnt write this because i have stacks of gcps and want their value to go up but because this would help balence the in game economy better i believe.

have to agree with the others. Using a GCP to upgrade gems is already a money sink why would I want a green/blue roll when I want a red roll even more of a money sink to scour it to then do it again and again and again oh please god no.
This would make the gem drops more useful as of now sub 10% gems are next to worthless only being used for the gcp vendor recipe I think this would put more currency in new players hands faster while making the players with currency to burn something to do with it. This would also let you custimize your character more which I cant see beeing a bad thing. And they could let special properties to be added to gems such as reduced mana having a small chance to reduce mana reservation or other things similar.

Keyword there is needlessly. Complex doesn't mean better. I don't know how to fix GCPs, but this isn't the answer. It's minor, needlessly random in both effect and acquisition, and wouldn't do anything but slow down GCP inflation. Not everything in the game needs to be in service of the economy.
