So im here looking and the countdown clock, please remind me how is it - when do you get to download the patch, when to enter the queue etc. I want to be efficient: E - F - F -I -C - I - E- N - T goooooo Tigers

The queue usually opens about two hours before launch time. Just sit in-game and hit log-in repeatedly.
You can also watch a live streamer like Zizaran or Quin on Twitch, as they'll be doing the same thing. |

Patching server is usually up 3 hours before league start. Patch, then wait :)

Most PoE discord channels have alerts that ping when the servers go up.

the trick is to use standalone client and download through torrent, because steam client is very scuffed for league starts because when developer publishes update your client will only update after you restart steam client
