Still a novice - what next for my RF Jugg?

I'm still very much a novice to this game and my RF Jugg is the furthest I've ever made it into maps. I've been following Pohx's build and item filters and it seems to be working so far. My question is what should I be looking to do next to progress my character/damage output? I run Yellow maps just fine, but Red maps are a bit difficult. I'd love to get a proper 6-link and color my gear, but I don't have enough currency to randomly roll for them. I'm basically playing as SSF as I don't really understand trading yet. I know I probably could trade for some items, but I'd also like to know what my next steps should be assuming I continue SSF.
