GPU load increased after 3.22 patch

Hello, I had been testing performance just before the patch today and noticed that after the patch my system performed differently.

It seems there is a constant load on the GPU which does not scale with performance settings. At 800x600 res before patch my client was reporting about 2ms of GPU work while after it's about 5-6ms. Same story at 1080p where before patch I had around 3-4 and now 6-7ms.

I can only imagine that this can be due to the GPU accelerated particle system.

I run a A770 GPU, would very much love to hear if this is felt on AMD and Nvidia as well.

Your problem seems to be fully unrelated to the issue I'm experiencing sorry

I had some footage as I was tuning my settings just before release. Using my stream encoding settings which has worked for many months now.

If it's of any interest:

Included a after patch recording. The stuttering seen is purely rendering lag from OBS. The gameplay itself is smooth but I have lost about half of my fps from the patch. Have limited PoE to 75 fps to prevent rendering lag now which is less then ideal.

Ideal scenario is if PoE was successful in yielding some of the GPU over to other programs. Running MSI Kumbustor which can easily load the GPU fully has no stuttering and there is minimal stuttering in the vtubing software.

Most recent change which introduced the GPU particle system seems to have made poe more aggressive in using the GPU which causes major rendering lag (encoding is totally fine) for OBS and hitching in my vtubing software. Both which uses hardly any GPU.

This issue is still sadly present with the latest 3.22.1 patch. Hopefully it will be resolved eventually.

I have been relegated to 60fps 1080p to stream without to many frame drops which was possible before on 120fps 1080p.

(mentioning the stream here as poe seems to be very highly prioritized and strangles OBS causing it to have render lag, even if the render of a frames takes about 1-2% GPU usage. Meaning it's a good indication when POE gets GPU limited, due to the very highly variable content possible. Ideally PoE should not be so greedy but this might be possible to change in windows somehow.)
